With the ‘End of Support’ announcement for Avaya Aura Release 8 in March 2023, organisations are now reviewing the best options to ensure that they can continue to deliver the right levels of service and ensure that systems are secure, supported, and compliant.

Changes to Avaya Solutions
Avaya’s latest updates provide an overview of changes happening which will affect organisations running Avaya Aura and represents an opportunity to shift from the manufacturers perpetual license model to a new subscription-based offer.

Details from Avaya on the upcoming changes
- Avaya will continue to support license additions (Perpetual and Subscription) for Avaya Aura Release 8 and Avaya Call Center Elite Release 8.x through mid-March 2023.
- Avaya will provide Buy to Current offers through mid-March 2023, so customers can purchase the new Avaya Aura Platform and Avaya Call Center Elite as Release 10 Subscription or perpetual but deploy as Release 8 if they choose to do so.
- The new Release 10 Avaya Aura Platform and Avaya Call Center Elite will continue to be offered as perpetual or subscription by Avaya.
- Additions and uplifts for Avaya Aura perpetual 8.x will continue to be available together with design support (bug fixes, service packs, patches, and security updates) until the End of Manufacturer Support (EOMS) date of March 20th, 2023.
These changes represent a challenge for some organisations who will cease to receive manufacturer support from March 2023 which can also impact regulatory compliance as systems processing or storing data need to be supported by manufacturer.
