We are looking for an adaptable and enthusiastic individual to join our finance team as an Assistant Management Accountant. The successful individual will be able to gain a broad range of experience with us in all aspects of finance, and support to develop into a well-rounded and confident accountant. We will provide study support and plenty of training to help you grow to your full potential.

The primary focus of this role will be supporting the wider team so a good understanding of financial transactions is essential. You should be able to complete a bank reconciliation, and be confident with sales invoicing (although support will be provided with using our software). There will be scope for you to develop further and take on additional tasks as you grow, for example VAT returns, more of the management accounts and larger projects with the financial controller.

Scope of responsibilities

  1. Assist with the production of accurate and timely management accounts, together with meaningful analysis.
  2. Assist with detailed variance analysis explaining variances to budget & forecast.
  3. Assist in the development of forecast and budgets as required.
  4. Develop and improve key financial information.
  5. Assist with monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  6. Supporting the annual external audit.
  7. Provide ad hoc analysis or reconciliations as required.
  8. Supporting the wider finance team at all levels
  9. Regular review and improvement of finance processes.
  10. Maintaining accurate and timely bank reconciliations
  11. Supporting the wider finance team at all levels.
  12. Process sales ledger invoices.

Technical Profile

  • AAT Advanced Diploma/Level 3 or equivalent
  • Current working towards or looking to study towards an accountancy qualification.
  • Experience of sales ledger (at least 1 year)
  • Experience with bank reconciliations (at least 1 year)
  • Experience of posting journals (desirable)
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience with Sage 200 (ideal but not essential)
