We are looking for an adaptable and enthusiastic individual to join our finance team as an Accounts Assistant. The primary focus of this role will be supporting the wider team so a good understanding of financial transactions is essential.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the wider finance team and financial controller. This will involve some transactional tasks, such as bank reconciliations, supporting the sales ledger clerk with invoicing as needed or resolving credit control queries. It will also involve assisting the financial controller with projects to drive efficiencies and strengthen processes as required, and taking responsibility for your own management accounts.

Scope of responsibilities

  1. Process sales ledger invoices.
  2. Maintaining accurate and timely bank reconciliations.
  3. Supporting the annual external audit.
  4. Provide ad hoc analysis or reconciliations from as required.
  5. Supporting the wider finance team at all levels.
  6. Regular review and improvement of finance processes.

Technical Profile

  • Experience of sales ledger (desirable)
  • Experience with bank reconciliations (desirable)
  • Experience of posting journals (desirable)
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience with Sage 200 (ideal but not essential)
