A: The switch to hybrid and remote working that we have seen over the last few years has accelerated the convergence between networks, security and applications. FourNet recognised the need to develop new and enhanced service offerings because of that convergence in the overall IT environment.

Nearly every organisation in the UK has had to fundamentally review their network requirements as employee working practices have changed. These altered patterns have also contributed to dramatic increases in cyber threats.

For FourNet, the acquisition of Nowcomm significantly increases our networking and cybersecurity capabilities, enabling us to broaden our technology portfolio and provide expertise and support for Cisco solutions in addition to our existing Fortinet and Extreme Networking capabilities.

Nowcomm is one of the world’s leading Cisco partners, and is one of only two Cisco Gold, Master Security and Master Collaboration accredited partners in the UK. Nowcomm’s specialisation and expertise in the Cisco technology stack made them an ideal addition to our portfolio.

As well as these new Cisco capabilities, the Nowcomm acquisition will also give our customers access to a 24:7 Security Operations Centre (SOC) manned by a team of UK-based security experts. Underpinned by best-of-breed monitoring and detection software this expert team can provide monitoring and prevention to cyber threats across any customer network technology.
