At FourNet, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact, supporting positive social outcomes, and building a more sustainable business.
Over the past year, we've taken practical steps to turn this into action. This has included reducing our carbon emissions, increasing the adoption of electric vehicles, and offsetting emissions by supporting community projects.
Here's what that progress looks like in practice.
Reducing Our Carbon Emissions by 12%
In 2025, we achieved a 12.14% reduction in total carbon emissions, marking a significant step forward in lowering our environmental impact.
Having seen emissions rise last year because of company acquisitions, getting back on a downward trajectory is an important milestone, and one we’re committed to building on.
This wasn't down to a single initiative, but a sustained focus on reducing emissions across the business. It reflects a combination of operational improvements, greater efficiency, and targeted changes in how we work and travel.

Accelerating the Shift to EV: Over 25% of Business Travel Now Electric
Each year, FourNet surveys employees on how they commute and travel for work to build a clear picture of the environmental impact of business travel.
Over the past year, we've seen a significant increase in electric vehicle (EV) usage. EVs now account for 25.6% of all miles travelled, compared to just over 1% three years ago. In 2025, this equated to over 91,000 miles of business travel, marking a clear shift in how our people travel.
This shift is happening alongside a wider change in the UK market. As of early 2026, fully electric vehicles make up just over 5% of all cars on UK roads, though with more than 23% of new car registrations in 2025 being electric, the pace of change is clear – and FourNet's adoption reflects this progress.

This progress has been supported by our salary sacrifice scheme, which makes EVs a more accessible and cost-effective option for employees and supports the move away from higher-emission vehicles.
Supporting Global Carbon Reduction Projects
Alongside reducing our emissions, we also offset our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions through the internationally recognised Gold Standard programme, enabling FourNet to operate as a carbon neutral organisation.
Carbon offsetting allows us to support projects that deliver both environmental and social value in communities around the world.
Over the past two years, we have supported initiatives including:
Ceará Biomass Project, Brazil
The first Gold Standard project in Brazil, this initiative helps ceramic factories transition away from using illegal firewood as fuel to using agricultural and industrial residues (biomass). This reduces deforestation and emissions, while creating economic opportunities from materials that would otherwise go to waste.
Water Filter Programme, Dindori and Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh, India
This project provides safe drinking water to underserved households, removing the need to boil water using traditional wood-burning stoves. Alongside reducing carbon emissions, it improves air quality and delivers meaningful health benefits to local communities.
Continuing to Deliver Meaningful Progress
Our progress over the past year highlights what targeted, practical action can achieve. By focusing on reducing emissions, changing how we travel, and supporting global offsetting projects, we are continuing to take meaningful steps towards a more sustainable business.
We remain committed to building on this progress in the years ahead. To learn more about our wider ESG commitments, targets, and year-on-year performance, read our latest Responsible Business Report.
