We are delighted to share that FourNet are now a carbon neutral organisation!
Here at FourNet, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously and over the past 12 months we’ve been working hard to ensure we are doing all we can to tackle climate change.
Earlier this year we were proud to be awarded ISO 14001 certification and in January, we produced our first baseline carbon footprint report for the calendar year 2021 which states our scope 1 and 2 emissions and selected scope 3. By investing in a certified Gold Standard carbon offsetting scheme, we have offset our 2021 scopes 1 and 2 and selected scope 3 emissions which totalled 83 tCO2e and are delighted to be able to say that we are now carbon neutral.
Our aim now is to develop a carbon management plan that will see us reduce emissions year on year in line with science-based targets and working towards net zero carbon in line with the UK governments ambitions.
We’re well on our way to reducing emissions for 2022 and in April we changed energy providers to ensure that our electricity consumption in our Manchester Head Office is sourced from 100% renewable energy. In addition, we have recently refurbished the Manchester office and implemented energy efficient practices such as low energy lighting and appliances and motion sensor lighting.
There’s lots more to come and we’ll be publishing our first ever Responsible Business Report later this year to keep you updated on everything we’ve been working on. In the meantime, you can find out more on our Responsible Business webpage.
